Developmental Services Inc is very proud to be a partner with the U.S. Department of Labor certified apprenticeship programs for the occupational title of Direct Support Specialist (DSS) and state certified DOL apprenticeship programs for DSS.

The U.S. DOL apprenticeship program requires the focus of skill development through the completion of 2000 hours of work based learning and approximately 180 related instruction hours. Related instruction hours and things like classroom training, educational events, and work based training. They are basically planned events for the purpose of teaching or instructing the DSP.

Any education or employer training program that holds a certificate from the Department of Labor as meeting the apprenticeship requirements for Direct Support Specialist is an approved accredited education and training program and meets the requirements for the national credentialing program DSP-C level.
